Advanced Imaging Reveals Hidden Thermoelectric Structure

Northwestern Chemistry faculty Mercouri Kanatzidis and Vinayak Dravid led an interdisciplinary study using advanced imaging to reveal hidden atomic-scale structures in thermoelectric materials. Working with collaborators in Northwestern's McCormick School of Engineering, the team linked these features to improved heat-to-electricity conversion, advancing efforts to capture energy lost as waste heat.
