Wasielewski receives the 2026 Marsha I. Lester Award

Congratulations to Professor Michael R. Wasielewski on receiving the 2026 Marsha I. Lester Award for Exemplary Impact in Physical Chemistry from the American Chemical Society Physical Chemistry Division.From artificial photosynthesis to quantum information science, his research explores how light-driven processes in molecules and materials can power the next generation of technologies. His work sits at the intersection of chemistry, physics, and engineering and continues to push the field forward.
Professor Wasielewski is the Clare Hamilton Hall Professor of Chemistry and is the Director for the Institute for Quantum Information Research and Engineering (INQUIRE).
He will be honored at ACS Fall 2026 in Chicago, where he will present his research, be recognized at the PHYS Division reception, and receive this prestigious award.
