Harel and Kanatzidis research published in Nature Photonics

March 29, 2017

Work just published in Nature Photonics by the Harel and Kanatzidis groups using transient absorption microscopy reveals that different carrier types are formed simultaneously in perovskite thin film materials and segregate on the hundreds of nanometer length scale. This demonstrates that morphology plays a critical role in determining the optical properties of these materials. The ability of solar cell materials to convert sunlight to electricity is dependent on the nature and dynamics of charge carriers created upon photon absorption.
