Weiss and Haynes Named Finalists of Blavatnik National Awards for Young Scientists

Professor Emily Weiss and Chemistry Department alumna Professor Christy Haynes have been named two of the 31 finalists for the 2018 Blavatnik National Awards for Young Scientists: The World's Largest Unrestricted Prizes to Early Career Scientists. The finalists will compete for three available prizes awarded in the categories of Life Sciences, Chemistry, and Physical Sciences & Engineering.
Professor Weiss was nominated for her pioneering cross-disciplinary work using semiconductor quantum dots as model systems to study processes at interfaces between different material.
Professor Haynes was nominated for her pioneering work in the development of novel assays to assess the toxicology of nanoparticles in physiological and ecological systems.
