Paul Ohno Named Schmidt Science Fellow

April 9, 2019

Graduate student Paul Ohno has been named a 2019 Schmidt Science Fellow. This fellowship is a year-long fellowship that aims to develop the next generation of science leaders through interdisciplinary research to solve the world's most pressing problems.

During his PhD research, Paul used lasers to investigate the molecular structure at physical interfaces between water and other substances, like minerals or cell membranes. His science has helped us to better understand and control processes such as pollutant transfer in watercourses or cellular signaling. Now, as a Schmidt Science Fellow, Paul will apply his expertise in lasers to directly determine climate-relevant properties of atmospheric aerosol particles suspended in air.

 Congratulations Paul!
