Spring 2020 Chemistry Newsletter

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Northwestern Chemistry and the entire world have entered a shared liminal space. And during the challenges of shelter-in-place orders, I especially wanted to pass on the happenings in our community to provide some bright spots. Welcome to our Spring newsletter. Northwestern is celebrating 150 years of women this year, and in that spirit, this quarterly update features members who have made and are making important contributions to our department. Also, we celebrate faculty elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences and students recognized with prestigious early-career fellowships and named postdoctoral fellowships. The word “together” has trended recently, and for good reason—may we navigate the times as such.
