2024 JAMES A. IBERS SUMMER LECTURES IN INORGANIC CHEMISTRY
The James A. Ibers Summer Lectures in Inorganic Chemistry honors his tremendous impact on inorganic chemistry. In July, we welcomed renowned inorganic chemist Edward Solomon from Stanford University, whose lectures explored the activation and interaction of metal sites with oxygen in both biological and inorganic systems. His insights highlighted parallels between metalloenzymes and catalytic processes in biological and synthetic environments.
These events are part of the department’s six named lecture series held annually, which foster academic exchange, enrich our students' learning experiences, and inspire new research ideas.
