A team led by Professor Chad Mirkin has achieved a groundbreaking accomplishment in nanotechnology by engineering colloidal quasicrystals using DNA-modified building blocks. This work solves a decades-long puzzle by unveiling a new methodology to deliberately design and assemble complex quasicrystals with non-repeating yet orderly patterns.
